The Stair Shoppe has been a fixture in the Calgary construction scene since 1988. Over the years we have always embraced technology in our construction techniques.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
3 D drawings
Shop drawings
Accurate takeoffs of blueprints
Customer relations
Design drawings for in-house construction
Alberta Building Codes and how they apply to stair/handrail construction and design

The Stair Shoppe requires an ambitious employee with computer drafting experience. They would be required to go on jobsites to do takeoffs as well. We are a company that demands accuracy so excellent math skills are required. The successful applicant will have a strong working knowledge of Autocad, Excel, Word experience as well as a clean driving record. Auto Desk, Solid Works, C.N.C. experience is an asset.

Starting wages are between $35,000 and $45,000 per year depending on experience. Benefits are available after 3 months probation. This position will be available as of April 10, 2012.

Construction Site Maintenance Worker

As a member of the Landscaping Department, the Construction Site Maintenance Worker is accountable for the overall maintenance of construction sites, in accordance with company policies and procedures and in order to achieve company’s construction goals. You will be responsible to maintain the internal and external appearance of construction sites by completing cleaning at specific stages of construction development. You will be in charge of vacuuming, removing garbage, material and debris throughout, sweeping, scraping, washing, and other site maintenance related activities. You will be responsible for supporting the Construction Site Manager and trades in safe work practices.

Requirements:

• Prior construction cleaning and/or maintenance experience is required.
• Valid Class 5 Alberta Motor Vehicle Operator’s License in a good standing.
• Ability to perform activities involving physical labour for extended period of time.
• Ability to operate machines, tools and other special equipment required to perform site maintenance, including shop vac, generator, water pump, etc.
• Attention to detail.
• Good organization skills.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to determine the neatness, accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
• Good knowledge of Edmonton city and its subdivisions.
